Stainless Steel (SS) is a combination of iron and chrome that can contain a smaller percentage of nickel, molybdenum, and magnesium if necessary for improved properties. By introducing a minimum of 10.5% chromium content into the alloy, steel gains superior corrosion-resistant properties. It is also primarily why they are highly sought after for various applications in numerous industries. Based on its composition, physical properties, and intended use, stainless steel is classified into different series. Locally, the most familiar series are 200, 300, and 400, with grades 304 and 316 making up the bulk of our daily collection.
